Amal Clooney News 2015: British Human Rights Lawyer Criticized For Focusing More On Hollywood Than Her Clients And Cases [VIDEO]
Amal Clooney might be one of the most talked about Human Rights Lawyers in the world right now, thanks to her marriage to Hollywood star George Clooney, but is she winning any of her cases? That's what her critics are wondering as the British beauty traveled to the Maldives this week to meet former President Mohamed Nasheed, who is being held in jail. Amal is defending him after he was charged with terrorism and sentenced to 13 years in prison.
According to People Magazine on Monday, Clooney has pleased for his release, calling his jail sentence "arbitrary and in violation of international law." She also said that she will "continue to pursue all legal and diplomatic strategies to secure our client's release, including through the UN Working Group on Arbitrary Detention."
Still, fans can't help but wonder if an outcome will work in Amal's favor, as she hasn't won a case for some time now. Amal failed to help three Al-Jazeera journalists in Egypt. They were sentenced to three years in prison for airing "false news" according to an Egyptian court.

Many Daily Mail commenters believe Amal is spending too much time focusing on her Hollywood lifestyle with her husband George rather than on her work as an international lawyer.
One critic wrote, "Amal is a sham. She has never led a case nor won a case and is still listed as a junior at her law firm. She's only leeching on to Clooney's famous name," along with, "She lost ANOTHER case. She's AWFUL. Perhaps there was a tequila party with the Egyptian 1% to attend after playing lawyer for an hour or so?"
Another commenter wrote, "Mrs Clooney loses another case. Has she actually ever defended anyone successfully? She's too busy worrying about her hair and best side for the camera instead of focusing on her client."
So far, George Clooney's camp has not commented on the criticism. The couple will be celebrating their one year anniversary later this month.
