She was sure he had been planning a romantic surprise for her on their fifth and final wedding day, but Carly (Laura Wright) will learn the truth about what has been keeping Sonny (Maurice Benard) from their ceremony on General Hospital.

Sonny's Disappearance Starts Causing Concern

She was keeping the smile on her face and enjoying time with all the guests of their wedding at Greystone Manor as she waited for Sonny's return-but when Jake (Billy Miller) arrives instead, with blood on his shirt, her hopes that things are okay will quickly diminish, as he prepares to tell her the truth.

"What's going on?" she asks him in a preview clip for the Wednesday, September 9 episode.

What Will Happen To Sonny & Jake After The Shooting?

Jake had been near the scene when Sonny was shot by an unknown assailant while trying to free TJ (Tequan Richmond) from his kidnapping. He arrived on the scene, and without thinking, acted the way he used to when he was Jason Morgan, disarming all of the attackers and killing each one, while Sam (Kelly Monaco) called 911 to get Sonny some help. Now, she is still at the scene as paramedics try to rush him to the hospital in time in an attempt to save his life.

"He's barely stable, we've got to move him now," the paramedics say as they wheel Sonny by her on a stretcher.

Meanwhile, Jordan (Vinessa Antoine) will learn that her son was targeted in the plot to kill Sonny, and will be grateful he is unharmed-but she will use ti to try and convince him once and for all to come back home to her.

"No one close to him is safe," she says to TJ in the clip.

General Hospital airs Monday-Friday at 3 p.m. on ABC.
