It looks like Queen Elizabeth is looking to break tradition. There's a new report that suggests the long-reigning monarch is looking to skip over her son Prince Charles so that Prince William and his wife Kate Middleton can become the next King and Queen of Great Britain.

According to OK! Magazine on Wednesday, the Queen will soon be making history as she will reportedly be stepping down from the throne, which will be assumed by Prince William and the Duchess instead.
Unfortunately though, the Queen's decision has caused quite a lot of friction behind closed doors as 66-year-old Prince Charles has been waiting in line for the crown since he was a toddler.

"It's been a tough pill to swallow for Charles," an insider told the site. "He's spent his whole life waiting to succeed his mother. He initially flew into a rage, ranting that the crown is rightfully his. But then he began to see her way of thinking."
The royal insider also adds that the main reason why the Queen decided to skip over her son is because Prince William and Kate are "simply far more beloved than Charles ever was."
The source added, "This is what the people want: William and Kate as King and Queen."
