Carter, who continues to tour with his boy band The Backstreet Boys, is one of 13 celebrities set to compete on Dancing With the Stars this fall. The 35-year-old singer may have plenty of experience with singing and choreography, ballroom dancing is a whole new avenue.
The singer spoke with ABC recently and revealed his "insecurity" when it comes to this new experience.

"A lot of people don't realize that I actually have an insecurity when it comes to dancing and that stems from starting when I was 12 years old and being in an ensemble with five guys that you can sort of hide within choreography so you're not out there by yourself like a solo artist would be, necessarily," Carter explained. "So, there's a lot of flaws and habits that I have and those things are becoming very obvious as I'm in class."
Carter will be dancing with Sharna Burgess in the upcoming season, who danced last season with combat soldier Noah Galloway. She took the war hero all the way to a third place finish. Will she do the same or even better with Carter? Only time will tell.
According to Enstars' poll asking who will win this season, Carter has been voted the second most likely winner of season 21. Carter and Burgess trail only Bindi Irwin and Derek Hough.
Dancing With the Stars season 21 premieres Monday, Sept. 14 at 8 p.m. ET/PT on ABC.
