Forget those rumors that Amal Clooney wants to make her way into Hollywood because -- according to her husband -- they are simply untrue. George Clooney recently said that his International Human Rights lawyer wife is a "grown woman with her own career," while insisting that she's not interested in the celebrity spotlight.

According to Entertainment Tonight on Friday, the Hollywood heartthrob said that Amal is so busy with her work, that she has absolutely no interest in becoming a movie star.

He said, "She's a grown woman with her own career. It's tough when they're stabbing her co-counselor in the head a couple days before she gets there. It's a little nerve-racking. But she's doing the right thing and she's doing it for the right reasons."

George also said that unfortunately the couple won't be able to celebrate their upcoming one-year anniversary later on this month.

He explained rather sarcastically, "Unfortunately, I have to speak at Jerry Weintraub's memorial. This is his last producorial way of screwing me over, that on my anniversary, I have to go to his memorial."

Meanwhile, Amal is currently in The Maldives, defending former president Mohamed Nasheed, who was charged with terrorism and has been sentenced to 13 years in prison. He is the country's first democratically elected president.

A source close to the British lawyer said of the situation, "Amal is in a pretty rough spot right now in the Maldives. President Nasheed is a really good, forward-thinking man, in a really dangerous situation, and Amal being there is really tricky and really dangerous."
