He had been threatened by Clyde (James Read) after being appointed the new head of his drug dealing ring that if he double-crossed him his loved ones would pay, and now after Paige's shocking murder, JJ (Casey Moss) will worry about his mother's safety as well on Days of Our Lives.

Clyde believed that JJ wasn't working as a double agent trying to bring him down, but warned the young teen that if he ever found out the rumors he was working for the cops were true, he would kill his ex-girlfriend whom he still loved, and his mother, Jennifer (Melissa Reeves). Only a few days later, JJ went to Paige's dorm room and found her dead in the shower, strangled with a necktie.

Now, knowing he still needs to keep the truth about Clyde a secret, JJ is torn that his own secret is out and his loved ones are all in extreme danger. As a result, he will warn Jennifer of the danger she may be in without giving her details-and potentially try to convince his mother to get out of town before it is too late.

However, what JJ doesn't know is that Paige's murder is not necessarily connected to Clyde's threats against him, but is actually part of a plot being enacted by a serial killer who is loose in Salem. The killer previously struck by murdering Serena the same way, the same night after she got drunk at the club with Chad (Billy Flynn). Paige's murder came soon after Chad confronted her in the park because she was a material witness who potentially could help get him locked up for the crime.
