One Direction's Zayn Malik Did Not Want To Perform A Song, He Admits [VIDEO]
During a recent interview, One Direction's Zayn Malik admitted that he did not want to perform one song for a live performance but was ultimately convinced to do so by another band member.
The band performed at New York City's Madison Square Garden earlier in December and Malik, 19, revealed that he was not too keen on performing a cover of "Teenage Dirtbag" by Wheatus. However, Louis Tomlinson, 20, was able to convince him otherwise.
"The idea came from Louis. He said 'Teenage Dirtbag' and the minute he said it everyone was like, 'yeah let's do it!' except for me." Malik said. "The boys were laughing. It grew on me, though. The initial idea of it, I didn't know if we could do it but it worked."
The crowd seemed to love it though, as shown in the video below.
1D was voted Ultimate Men at this years Cosmopolitan VO5 Ultimate Women Awards in early Decemeber. For their win, Malik, Tomlinson, Harry Styles, Liam Payne and Niall Horan graced the cover of Cosmopolitan UK's Decemebr 2012 issue.
1D will begin their second headlining world tour on Feb. 23 in London, England. The 100-plus show tour will take the band to countries including Ireland, Germany, Sweden, Italy, Australia, the U.S. and Canada. Until then, Malik is excited to go home for the holidays, he expressed on his Twitter page.
On Dec. 20, he wrote, "Morning !! X factor tonight and then home for Christmas ! :)" followed a day later by "Perrie just finished decorating the tree I didn't really help :( ha sorry x" Malik referred to his girlfriend, British singer Perrie Edwards. The 1D singer attached to his post a link to a photo of Edwards beside a Christmas tree decorated with lights.
Malik turns 20 on Jan. 12.
