Amid accusations of drug use from both her first husband, Corey Simms, and her second husband, Jeremy Calvert, the Teen Mom 2 star released a message to fans on Twitter, defending her decision to address her issues, which she claims stem from anxiety and depression.
“Treatment is not only of addiction by many many other reasons as well," she wrote. "No one seeking help should be looked at in a negative light for me DO NOT know/understand what’s going on to judge. The world CAN and WILL be a much better place. Treatment is for ANXIETY and DEPRESSION as well.”

Throughout filming on Teen Mom 2 season six, Messer faced rumors of being an unfit parent, and abusing prescription pain pills. However, despite her admission to feeling as though she was “becoming dependent” on the pain pills prescribed to her in 2013, following the painful birth of her daughter Adalynn, the reality star has insisted to fans, and her ex-husbands, that she has no drug problem.
In fact, she recently told fans she would release her medical records from Sierra Tuscon, where she claims to have been treated.
