Nick Carter will have some very "difficult" dances to perform next week on ABC's Dancing With the Stars.

Carter and his pro dancing partner Sharna Burgess came out of the gate strong during Monday's premiere of Dancing With the Stars. The couple received a score of 24 out of 30 from the judges, which put them at the top of the leaderboard alongside Bindi Irwin and Derek Hough.

Next week, the celebs will learn two dances, for the Monday and Tuesday shows, respectively, during which two couples will be eliminated. Carter should be safe from the elimination block barring any significant missteps, but he could establish himself as a frontrunner if he does even better next week.

Are Bindi Irwin & Nick Carter This Season's First Official 'Dancing With the Stars' Frontrunners?

Burgess wrote in a guest blog to HollywoodLife.com about what's ahead for next week.

"I think Nick is incredibly talented, and I want him to realize that and find the confidence in himself to be that performer and that dancer that we all know he can be," she wrote. "We have the Jive & Foxtrot next week - two difficult dances, two very different dances."

Burgess sees great potential in Carter, even name dropping one of the greatest dancers in modern history.

"I think it would be awesome to see Nick come out and do an energetic Jive, and then come out and be like Gene Kelly in a Foxtrot," she wrote. "It's going to be two very, very different personalities for him, and I honestly think he's going to blow people away with his Foxtrot."

Dancing With the Stars airs next Monday at 8 p.m. and Tuesday at 9 p.m. ET/PT on ABC.
