'Love And Hip Hop New York' Cast: Update On Mendeecees Harris' Drug Case, How Much Time He Could Get In Jail [VIDEO]
Things are looking a little better for Love & Hip Hop New York star Mendeecees Harris as he faces serious jail time after pleading guilty for his part in a huge drug ring.

Interestingly enough federal prosecutors handling the case are the ones who have requested for a judge to put a limit on how much time Harris will spend behind bars. Apparently they hope he doesn’t get any more than 10 years.
Harris pleaded guilty to felony drug trafficking and conspiracy. He said he, along with his brother and a third man, transported lots of cocaine and heroin to other areas in New York using a ferry. Even though he pleaded guilty and even the prosecutors want to help him, he’s still looking at up to 40 years plus a fine with the price tag of $5 million.

Prosecutors at the U.S. Attorney’s Office believe that his confession as well as cooperation with authorities should lessen his time in jail. Still, they want him to turn in the $171,000 he earned from Love & Hip Hop New York over to them plus a $100 fine.
In a document obtained by Bossip Thursday, Assistant U.S. Attorney Frank Sherman wrote earlier this month, “Upon the ground that the defendant has assisted authorities in the investigation of prosecution of the defendant’s own misconduct by timely notifying authorities of the defendant’s intention to enter a plea of guilty, thereby permitting the government to avoid preparing for trial and permitting the government and the court to allocate their resources efficiently, the government hereby moves the court to apply the additional one level downward adjustment for acceptance of responsibility…”
Harris, who just married Yandy Smith on a Love & Hip Hop wedding special in May, is set to be sentenced on Oct. 2.
