‘NCIS’ Season 13 Spoilers: Dr. Cyril Taft Will Appear In More Than Just Premiere Episode? [VIDEOS]
NCIS makes its return to CBS tomorrow night, Sept. 22 and in the episode viewers will become acquainted with Dr. Cyril Taft (Jon Cryer), the doctor that saves Gibbs' (Mark Harmon) life.
Who Will Abby Have An 'All Girl Scene' With In Upcoming 'NCIS' Episode?
It has been a huge wonder if Dr. Taft will appear more than once during the 13th season of the hit CBS show and it seems like he will in fact return in future episodes.
The NCIS YouTube channel uploaded two videos in which the core cast as well as guest star Cryer discuss the addition of Dr. Taft into the series.
Watch 4 Sneak Peeks From The 'NCIS' Season 13 Premiere Episode!
In the first video below, Pauley Perrette (Abby Sciuto on screen) rehashes the "tragic event" of Gibbs being shot twice by a child, which segues into Sean Murray (Timothy McGee on the series) talking about how the premiere episode of this new season will pick up right where season 12 left off.
Brian Dietzen, the portrayer of Jimmy Palmer, then talks all about Dr. Taft and his portrayer, Cryer.
Cryer then chimes in with his amazement over his character's first name. The silliness aside, Harmon is then seen in the video revealing how frequently Cryer has mentioned wanting to be on NCIS, but as "a dead body."
This role encompasses so more though. Harmon even considers it "a real nice role."
Cryer is known strictly for his humor, but with this role he will be combining his comedy skills with more dramatic skills. NCIS is known for its seamless marriage of comedy and drama so it's a perfect match.
"And he's going to be part of this year," Harmon admitted in the video, adding, "So it's not just a one-off. It's an organic character that will be back."
In the second video, Cryer seemed unaware of his character's status of recurring, but as seen in the first video, Harmon confirmed Dr. Taft will be appearing more than once.
We imagine Cryer will have many scenes with Gibbs considering his saved Gibbs' life, but Cryer would love to work with Dr. Donald "Ducky" Mallard (David McCallum) since he also once portrayed a "Duckie".
NCIS returns to CBS on Sept. 22 at 8 p.m. ET.
