Last Friday, Entertainment Tonight posted an interview with the actress who gave birth to her daughter, Hazel, a year and a half ago. Not too long after becoming a mom, Blunt started filming her latest role as a federal agent in the action flick Sicario. She said it "felt challenging" working on this film when her baby was born.
"I really had to explore a character that was so dissimilar to myself and so dissimilar to the moment I was having in my life, becoming a new mother," she said.

"I would be going home to a perfect, pink baby, and going on set to these guys," she added while pointing to the film's poster where her co-stars Josh Brolin and Benicio Del Toro are featured. "Who don't look like babies. They act like babies, but they don't look like babies."
As it turns out, Blunt's role in the movie was considered to be a male character, but obviously that never happened. The actress pointed out how she thinks the entertainment industry is taking a more open-minded shift these days in gender placements for movies.
"I think the landscape is taking a shift," she said. "The tides are turning in a very positive way for women. It's not such an anomaly to see women in these kinds of roles anymore, and I think audiences are embracing it."
Blunt is married to actor John Krasinski.
