Braxton and her pro partner Val Chmerkovskiy came out swinging last night on Dancing With the Stars, performing a very spirited Charleston set to "Living in New York City" by Robin Thicke. The dance earned them a 25 out of 30 from the judges, which was the highest score of the night.

Based on the first three dances of the season, Braxton and Chmerkovskiy are tied for first place on the overall leaderboard, with an average score of 24. They are tied with Bindi Irwin and Derek Hough, who may be their main competition going forward.

Braxton and Chmerkovskiy have steadily improved since the premiere, scoring a 23 last Monday, a 24 this Monday and a 25 last night. Will they continue to improve? Only time will tell.

Those near the middle of the pack thus far include Alek Skarlatos and Lindsay Arnold, Hayes Grier and Emma Slater and Andy Grammer and Allison Holker. Each of these couples should step up their game a bit if they wish to get to the late stages of the competition.

Meanwhile, those couples near the bottom who are at risk of going home as early as next week include Paula Deen and Louis van Amstel, Kim Zolack-Biermann and Tony Dovolani and Gary Busey and Anna Trebunskaya.

Dancing with the Stars airs Mondays at 8 p.m. ET/PT on ABC.
