Beyonce’s father, Mathew Knowles, has opened up about her and Jay Z and his own relationship with the infamous singer as rumors swirl that the family has cut him off.

Knowles spoke with The Insider recently and shared his real thoughts on his son-in-law amid speculation that Jay Z interfered with Beyonce’s relationship with her father.
“I think he’s a great guy. He’s an exceptional business man. And he’s an artist and he loves my daughter. And if she’s happy, I’m overwhelmed happy.”

There was rumored to be some drama between Beyonce and her father after they cut ties in their professional relationship. She let him go as the manager of her solo career after he is said to be the one to have brought Destiny’s Child to the height and peak of their success. There was also issues in their personal lives as he fathered a child while married to Beyonce’s mother, Tina Knowles. The two have since finalized their divorce. In fact, Beyonce’s mother remarried earlier this year.
But as far as his relationship with Beyonce, Mathew said he gets to see her “enough” before clarifying. He said “maybe” when asked if he spent Beyonce’s birthday with her.
As far as whether the Knowles clan has disowned him, Mathew said, “Well that’s not true. That’s not true at all. I just said I spent the day with my kids.”
Things got a little heated between the interviewer and Mathew when he refused to answer questions about his personal life and said he didn’t care about others thought about him.
But he did open up about him and Beyonce going their separate ways when it came to her career.
“It was time for me to be a dad and not a manager.”
Mathew also gushed about Beyonce and Jay Z’s daughter, Blue Ivy Carter, who just turned three this past January.
“She’s like incredible. She’s the smartest three-year-old that I know but I would say that. I’m a proud grandfather.
