Can fans expect two weddings in the final season of Downton Abbey?
Final Episode Of 'Downton Abbey' Is Making Grown Men Cry
While Carson and Mrs. Hughes are already set to tie the knot, it turns out that another big character may walk down the aisle- and unfortunately, this piece of news may have been revealed on accident.
On Wednesday, BT found out from another report that a wedding order of service had been discovered after it was left inside an Oxfordshire church used for filming the series. And if reports are correct, then this form indicates that the character who would be getting married in the final season is Lady Edith.
Fans Can Expect 'A Bit Of Tragedy' In The Final Season Of 'Downton Abbey'
Apparently, she might wed a man named Herbert, possibly referring to Bertie Palham who showed up in a Christmas episode of the show. He is expected to return in another episode so perhaps he might ask for Edith's hand in marriage.
Meanwhile, there's been a rumor that Downton Abbey may get its own feature film after the sixth season ends. While that's not guaranteed, Michelle Dockery (Lady Mary) made it clear that she would be ecstatic to be a part of it.
"I'd jump at the chance," Dockery said via Carter Matt. "It's certainly not something that's been discussed, as far as I know, but I'd imagine it would take very little for everyone to get involved."
Downton Abbey Season 6 premieres in the United States on Sunday, January 3 on PBS.
