Madonna Skiing: Queen of Pop Suffers Face Plant In Switzerland On Family Trip (PICS)
While Madonna clearly has a niche for on stage performance, she clearly can't be an icon in all that she does. Although it doesn't take nearly as much coordination to hold onto a microphone stand, the Queen of Pop indeed had her difficulties maintaining her balance while using her ski poles amid a foreign ski trip.
Pictures from the Daily Mail show the 54-year-old musician falling on the snowy terrain of Gstaad, Switzerland while attempting to spend some quality time with her much younger boyfriend Brahim Zaibat.
Madonna was spotted with her face planted in the snow with one of her skis disconnected. Her 25-year-old beau looked on as she seemingly struggled to stay in a balanced position.
Decked out in all black, which included a helmet along with a ski mask just exposing her eyes and mouth area, the singer attempted to stay incognito.
Despite her boyfriend being nearby, Madonna appeared extremely uncomfortable on her skis.
Madge's daughter Lourdes, who recently turned 16 in October, was also on hand. However, unlike her mother, she appeared to have her balance under full control as she headed down the white mountain.
The teen was dressed in an all black getup as well and wore her locks in long plaits while honing her snowboarding skills.
Mercy, Madonna's youngest daughter, partook in a private ski lesson with some instructors in order to help her improve her technique. However, unlike the rest of her family, she wore a more colorful skiing attire, which consisted of a pair of bright turquoise salopettes and a bright purple coat.
The six-year-old seemed to be enjoying herself and appeared to be happy as she removed herself from the ski lift.
The U.K. news site reports that Madonna's family is big fans of the area and also spent some time there in January 2012.
