Beyonce and Jay-Z's name choice for their first child was ranked the worst celebrity baby name of 2012.
According to a poll taken on Babynames.com, over 2,000 people registered with the website voted that their daughter's first name, Blue Ivy, was considered the least favorite out of all of the choices.
47.1 percent of those who took the poll voted "no" to the name given by Forbes' Highest Earning Couple of 2012.
Jennifer Moss, Babynames.com's CEO, reportedly explained that the reason Blue Ivy is so disliked is because the first name, Blue, is a noun and oun names are less popular. "I think celebrities are becoming a little more sensitive to the fact that the child has to live with his or her name," Moss said.
The power couple has yet to reveal why they named their daughter Blue Ivy. There are several theories surrounding thh subject: Jay-Z mentioned the color in a rap song ("My favorite hue is Jay-Z blue," he raps in the song "Go Crazy") and his three-part album series,"Blueprint 1, "Blueprint 2″, and "Blueprint 3."
His daughter Ivy's middle name "Ivy" is reportedly inspired by the couple's favorite number 4, which they share in common. Jay-Z's birthday is Dec. 4, Beyonce's birthday is Sep. 4, the couple got married on Apr. 4, and Beyonce's last and fourth album was simply titled, "4.″
Ivy is allegedly a twist on the Roman Numerals for the number 4, which is "IV."
