If it turns out that the One Direction member is not AGT material, then there is a backup plan- Cowell, himself, might snag that spot, says the site.
This year's winner of the series was Paul Zerdin whose act consisted of unique ventriloquism. In a previous report from Shockya, the performer admitted that he thought comedian Drew Lynch was going to be the winner.
"I thought that Drew would win it definitely," Zerdin said. "I thought he was an amazing comedian. (He has a) very lovable personality. The audience loved him in the theater and out and about in America."
Fans can expect a good haul of new acts in the new season that go as far as jumping through fire, singing hardcore opera, tricks from animals and comedic impressions.
America's Got Talent is expected to return in summer 2016.
