In a battle between two star rookie quarterbacks, the Seattle Seahawks (11-5) will face off against the Washington Redskins (10-6) in the Wild-Card playoff round on Sunday.

Led by Robert Griffith III, the Redskins enter the postseason for the first time in 13 seasons. However, in order to continue on, they must get past Russell Wilson and a potent Seahawks offense.

Since Griffin was named the team captain, Washington has been victorious in seven consecutive regular season games to obtain the NFC East title, while Seattle has won five straight, earning its way to a playoff berth.

Griffin's 102.4 QB rating is the highest ever by a first-year player and third best in the NFL this season. He was only picked off five times and threw for 20 touchdowns and also set a record for QB rushing yards with 815.

"The one thing our coaches did was they didn't baby me, they weren't going to make it baby steps, they made me learn to fly, they were really hard on me in OTAs and training camp and it's paid off," Griffin told ESPN.

While the former Baylor standout went No. 2 overall in the NFL draft, Wilson wasn't taken until the third round and had to beat out Matt Flynn for the starting position. The Seahawks phenom clearly worked out, tying Peyton Manning's record with 26 rookie touchdowns.

"Did Peyton go to the playoffs his first year? No. OK. Then you know who I think is better," Seattle fullback Michael Robinson stated.

Wilson finished with a 100.0 passer rating and passed for 3,118 yards.

"I really like Russell, he's really got a lot of the intangibles you look for in a quarterback. Really a class act, really handled himself extremely well, really a fun guy to talk to," Washington coach Mike Shanahan said.
