Say what you will about LeAnn Rimes, but there is no doubting the fact that she is one of the hardest-working singers in country music. The former reality television star is hoping for huge sales for her upcoming Christmas album as she's been hitting the media rounds to help promote her latest studio offering.

In a new interview with Billboard (via the Belfast Telegraph), Rimes said that she is hoping the recreate the spirit of the holidays in her new Christmas album, which has somewhat been missing in the last few years. She also seemed to criticize the younger country crowd who have been topping the charts, which is something she hasn't done in quite a few years.

She said, "There is something special about the spirit of the holidays, people are inclined to be more gracious and giving. Emotions also tend to be elevated during the holidays - whether we miss a family member no longer with us or we feel five years old again opening a gift on Christmas morning. Joy, longing, happiness, surprise; I want that full gambit of emotions to radiate from my music."

Rimes also seemed to criticize young country singers in the business today, stating that she can't tell them apart due to their lack of creativity.

Rimes, who has had a long-standing feud with fellow country singer Carrie Underwood, explained, "A lot of the older country music, there were these amazing stories and real feeling, and I feel a lot of that's lost now. It's just really hard for me to tell anybody apart these days. It's really sad."

Rimes added about herself, "My last album I feel there was such an authenticity and humanity to that record I don't feel I've ever had before."
