'Awkward' Season 5 Spoilers: Will Matty Change His Plans For The Future Because Of Jenna? [VIDEO]
He has the opportunity of a lifetime to play soccer at one of the top schools in the country, but Matty (Beau Mirschoff) could be considering giving it all up for another chance with Jenna (Ashley Rickards) on Awkward.
Tamara's Attempt To Win Adam Back Fails
In a sneak peek clip for the Monday, October 12 episode, he and Jake (Brett Davern) are discussing their plans for the future now that high school is coming to a rapid end.
"Why not? I would have committed over the phone before they could change their minds," Jake says in the clip after learning Matty hasn't yet committed to attending Berkeley in the fall.
Jenna Learns The Shocking Truth About Matty's Feelings
"I'm just going over everything one more time," Matty replies. Ferry, New Hampshire, UCSB. They're all good schools too."
"None of those could compete with Berkeley. That's Division I," Jake replies.
"Yeah, I'm 90 percent going to Berkeley," Matty adds.
However, after Jake insists on celebrating and Matty replies that he can't because he has plans with Jenna, Jake quickly clues in to why Matty is looking at other schools instead, prompting a pep talk about his being careful where Jenna is concerned because of their on/off history.
"Jenna's going to Wyckoff. In Maine," Jake says. "Suddenly you're considering Ferry. In Maine. Seriously dude?" Jake says.
"I'm going to Berkeley okay?" Matty replies, before detailing that he has a good feeling about his plans. "All week she's been sending signals like maybe she wants to get back together."
"You're reading a lot into one date," Jake replies.
And though Matty is excited, Jake won't hesitate to warn him that he needs to watch things because it could all lead to nowhere again.
"It's just, any time she looks your way, you're ready to jump," he says.
Awkward airs Mondays at 9 p.m. on MTV.
