Zayn Malik left One Direction in March and has been embarking on a solo career ever since.

Naughty Boy Claims His Fight With Zayn Malik Has Much More To It

Rumors have been swirling that the former boy band member wants to ruffle his former bandmates' feathers by working with long-time One Direction songwriter Jamie Scott.

Scott has worked on every One Direction album including the soon-to-be released one sans Malik. His writing efforts include Up All Night's "More Than This," Take Me Home's "She's Not Afraid," Midnight Memories' mega-hit "Story of My Life," FOUR's "No Control" amongst others from all four released LPs.

Is Zayn Malik Hinting His Solo Music Will Debut Soon?

According to OK! magazine in the United Kingdom a report from fellow British publication The Mirror cites Malik has been contacting Scott to bring aboard his solo project.

"Zayn knows Jamie is a ticket to a hit and has been sending messages to him trying to get the songwriter on board," an insider dished.

Scott apparently isn't onboard with the idea of working with the former 1D lad since it could cause tension.

"In any case Zayn won't be releasing his single until 1D is out the way and a couple of other 1D singles are out," the insider added.

A spokesperson for Malik told OK! that this gossip isn't true though.

"There are no plans scheduled at all," the spokesperson said, which makes us think Malik is nowhere near ready to release any solo music after all.

Plus, the former 1D singer has shown support for Harry Styles, Liam Payne, Niall Horan and Louis Tomlinson since parting ways with them.

He tweeted he thought "Drag Me Down" "is sick" when it dropped.

With that being said, we doubt he'd want to anger his former bandmates. Plus, he's looking to branch out beyond being in a boy band so working with Scott for his solo debut might not be in the cards despite Scott having a knack for writing hits.
