One of Raven Symone's former co-stars is speaking out on a controversy that took place this week.

Raven Symone Wanted To Make 'Magic' This Year

In a recent episode of The View, Symone said she would not hire someone who had a less than usual name like "Watermelondrea." So when her old co-star Keshia Knight Pulliam from The Cosby Show heard about this, she didn't seem too upset about it.

"I guess she wouldn't have hired me," Pulliam joked to HuffPost Live in Wednesday's report. "I've got about the most ethnic name you can have!"

The actress added that Symone is entitled to what she thinks and this is something that typically happens on the talk show she's a part of.

"On a show like The View, that's what they do. They sit around and they have conflicting opinions and they argue their opinions, so at the end of the day, it's about being your authentic self," Pulliam said. "And if that is authentically her opinion, it's hers. It doesn't mean that I have to agree with it or you have to agree with it, or anyone else."

Considering that Pulliam knew Symone as a child, she can understand the pressure she's constantly had to face from the public. So she would never do anything to put her down.

"It's challenging having grown up the way she did," Pulliam said. "So from the other side of the coin, I empathize with her, where anything that she says and does is under the microscope. So I'm not here to judge her or to bash her or anything like that. Ultimately, Raven has to kind of find her own and do it her own way."
