John Stamos may be sent to jail due to a DUI charge he received over the summer.
John Stamos Takes On A New Role
On Thursday, months after the Fuller House actor, who also stars in the new FOX comedy Grandfathered, was arrested, the L.A. County Attorney formally charged him with DUI.
“On or about June 12, 2015, in the County of Los Angeles, the crime of DRIVING UNDER THE INFLUENCE OF A DRUG, in violation of VEHICLE CODE SECTION 23152(e), a Misdemeanor, was committed by JOHN PHILLIP STAMOS, who did drive a vehicle while under the influence of a drug,” read a complaint filed by Jackie Lacey’s office Thursday, via a report by Deadline on Thursday.
John Stamos Enters Rehab After Being Charged With DUI
Deadline explained that while Stamos is scheduled to be arraigned in court tomorrow, he may have his attorney make an appearance in his place.
Following his June 2015 arrest, Stamos entered a residential treatment faciltiy for substance abuse.
"Stamos checked into a residential treatment facility on June 24," TMZ reported. "That was 12 days after his DUI bust in Beverly Hills... Stamos' issues are not a recent development. We're told he's getting treatment for a substance abuse problem that 'developed over a period of time.'"
While Stamos has been active on Twitter in the hours since news of his possible jail term was revealed, he has yet to speak of the issue. Instead, on Thursday, he shared a throwback photo with fans.
Stamos is facing six months in jail.
