Chris Brown is getting lots of backlash this morning but it’s not because of anything he did.

Fans are slamming him and Nick Cannon after Cannon compared Brown to legends like Michael Jackson and Tupac.

He took to his Instagram to say that the Ayo singer is a combination of both of the late icons.

He wrote, “The level of talent, passion, and artistic ability that this young man possesses makes @ChrisBrownOfficial a true legend amongst legends.”

He dded that he wasn’t going to “wait” until Brown is “gone” to show him some love.

“Think about how much everyone attacked MJ and 2Pac while they were alive….I don’t think I have ever witnessed someone more gifted, who has overcome so much and still growing and learning daily.”

Unfortunately for Cannon (and Brown) not all fans agree. Fans took to the photo to comment their thoughts.

“U couldn’t be more wrong. Pac spoke words of wisdom, injustice and black empowerment. Chris does not. Ever.” “Stop taking drugs. Pac words hold weight…You think it’s cool to call women h*es…Blacker the Berry the sweeter the juice or the h*es are loyal.”

“Won’t agree with your dumbness. You just disrespected Brown’s idol [MJ] mad disrespect to you from Africa…”

“Leave MJ out of ur nonsense his levels are untouchable!”

“Chris has mad talent but t compare him to those two? Ignorant. Learn about music then post. Chris could even be one of the legends, but to say he is already there is just for controversy. puts mad pressure on his image. Shocking.”
