The next episode of NCIS will make its debut tonight, Oct. 27 and it will have a bit of Halloween spirit in it.
'The Bionic Woman' Star Will Portray Bishop's Mom On 'NCIS'
In the sixth episode, which is called Viral, the NCIS team will investigate the tragic death of a petty officer, which mimics the M.O. of a local serial killer.
Eleanor "Ellie" Bishop (Emily Wickersham) along with the rest of the team will need to figure out if this recent death is the work of a copycat or if it is still the local serial killer adding to their death toll.
Will Bishop Receive 'A We Regret To Inform You Call' On 'NCIS' About Jake?
The NCIS YouTube channel released two sneak peeks into the episode before it airs tonight and in the first, Bishop is identifying the deceased petty officer.
"The victim is Petty Officer Second Class Adam Meyers [Dante Swain], culinary specialist stationed in Norfolk," Bishop reveals to Gibbs in the first sneak peek below.
Gibbs then asks Dr. Donald "Ducky" Mallard (David McCallum) what the cause of death is as Bishop walks away.
"I'd say this gunshot wound to the chest probably did the trick," Ducky reveals, adding, "It was through and through."
The time of death is then revealed before Timothy McGee (Sean Murray) reveals what people in the park heard and saw as the gunfire occurred.
"All the witnesses all heard one gunshot, but no one had eyes on the shooter," McGee shares with the team as Bishop chimes in with, "All these people and no one saw anyone fire a gun," in a bit of a questioning sense.
Gibbs seems to think the shooter wasn't in close proximity to the victim.
"Got a higher vantage point," he says while looking off in the distance, adding, "Direct line of sight."
Gibbs will then direct McGee and Bishop to find where the shooter was when the shot was fired.
In the other sneak peek that is below, Abby (Pauley Perrette) will be up to some Halloween fun in her lab with Gibbs.
"You want me to what?" Gibbs asks her to which she explains that she wants him to pick between the two black pumpkin tops she has out on the counter in her lab.
"One's a trick. One's a treat," she reveals.
Gibbs isn't for games, but Abby says, "Come on, my lab, my rules."
Gibbs winds up selecting the "treat," which leads to information on the kind of bullet that killed Petty Officer Second Class Adam Meyers.
"All of the tri-state sniper's victims were shot with a M40. Petty Officer Meyers was killed with a round from a M16 and that's not all," Abby explains in the clip.
The forensic specialist then discusses the note that was found at the scene of the crime. There is a match between it and the note found with the sniper's first victim.
"It's too identical, Gibbs," she then shares, adding, "The note found at the crime scene is a trace. The sniper's note was printed in every newspaper. Very easy to duplicate."
"Meyers was killed by a copycat," Gibbs concludes from Abby's work in the lab.
Before leaving her lab he reveals the trick under the other black pumpkin top, which are a few creepy toy spiders.
In other news relating to this episode, the actor portraying the deceased petty officer revealed on his Instagram during filming that he needed to undergo a haircut for the role.
Swain also dished he partook in some ADR, which is just some re-recording of lines that were mixed in with the original production.
NCIS airs on Tuesdays on CBS at 8 p.m. ET.
