Khloe Kardashian has been by Lamar Odom’s side since he was rushed to the hospital earlier this month after being found unconscious in Nevada. Now she is opening up like never before.

In the latest issue of People magazine, Kardashian gets candid about hearing the news that Odom was fighting for his life.
“All I knew was I had to get there. I had to get to him and make sure he was okay. I hate that he was in that situation. I wouldn’t want anybody in that situation, especially someone I love and care about.”

While Kardashian filed for divorce back in December of 2013, she and Odom didn’t sign off on the papers until this past summer. But when he was admitted the hospital, it came out that they were still married as a judge had yet to sign the papers as well.
She opened up about their current status (amid rumors that she gave him an ultimatum to stay off drugs), and said, “There are too many other important things, too many medical things. It’s not even in our brains thinking about us as a couple or having a relationship right now.”
Still, it’s no secret that Kardashian and Odom still love one another. But does that mean they’ll reunite for good?
She said, “I loved him always, and I will always love him. I don’t believe love is fickle. I believe when you love someone, you are allowed to love from afar. You don’t have to be with that person in order to love him.”
As far as his health condition, she is just happy he is awake even though “every hour is different. It goes up and down but he’s awake. He’s alive and that’s all I wanted was for him to be okay.”
Reports have said that Odom had overdosed on cocaine before being discovered and Kardashian said she also knows that there are just some things she will not be able to help him with.
“There’s a very long road ahead of [Lamar]. He has to walk that road by himself, and, most importantly, he has to want to walk that road. I will be there supporting him every step of the way.”
