Carmen Carrera News: Model Hopes On Becoming The First Transgender 'Angel' On The Victoria’s Secret Show [VIDEO]
Carmen Carrera, a transgender model and a reality TV personality reveals on how she wants to be the next Victoria's Secret transgender Angel to walk the runway. Nearly 50,000 people signed for a petition on Change.org, asking Victoria's Secret to make the model and actress their first transgender 'Angel.'
If pushed through, it will be written in history, the first ever transgender model to walk the runway of Victoria's Secret. "It is our moment," Carrera told TIME on what becoming an 'Angel' would mean to her. "This is our moment of becoming part of the mainstream. This is going to be the most memorable moment in the movement."
According to MailOnline, the petition was first created in 2013 by Marco Regalado from Bakersfield, Calif., who managed to encourage 48,263 people to add their own names to the list.
Victoria's Secret is well-known for launching the careers of supermodels and being an iconic American brand. Victoria's Secret Angels push the barriers whether it’s on the runway or in photoshoots -- and that's just what Carmen does!
Carrera also spoke to TIME about landing such huge career and that it’s been home for super models like Heidi Klum and Andriana Lima.

"I want to do this for the 50,000 people who signed the petition on Change.org," she said. "I want to do this for, of course, me and my career … And I want to do it for my family. I want them to be proud of me. I want them to be like, that's our kid, we raised that girl right there. And my community, for sure."
Victoria's Secret has not addressed yet the possibility of the transgender reality star of including her in future fashion shows, but Carrera is definitely ready to grab that chance if it will be given to her.
"I'm a show girl at heart," she said. "If I'm going to do fashion shows, this is the one to do."
