Leah Messer feels she should have never lost custody of her twin girls, Ali and Aleeah.

'Teen Mom 2' Star Leah Messer May Need A Hug

Following news of the Teen Mom 2 star's latest court hearing, which resulted in her ex-husband, Corey Simms, being named as their daughters' primary custodian, Messer spoke out, claiming the court made mistakes in their ruling.

"I have done so much to become a better person, it was like a slap in the face at first," Messer told Us Weekly, according to a report by Reality TV World on Friday. "It hurt me. It made me angry."

During the sixth season of Teen Mom 2, Messer entered a treatment program in Arizona, claiming to be suffering from anxiety and depression.

"I think child support has a lot to do with it," Messer said of the reasoning behind Simms' 2014 filing for full custody.

Previously, Simms was paying Messer $800 a month.

According to Messer's lawyer, Lyne Ranson, a judge ruled in Simms' favor in order to ensure the twins' "timely attendance at aschool."

"You would think that a father would want the best for his children, not to continue to attack their mother for no reason..." Messer continued of her "nonstop" fighting with Corey and his wife, Miranda. "Corey and I did hook up two months after [he and Miranda] got married... Miranda doesn't want me in the picture. She wants to hurt me because she thinks that Corey and I still have something for each other."
