Jamie Dornan News: Actor Might Finally Win An Accolade For ‘The Fall’ [VIDEO]
It looks like Jamie Dornan's hard work in Hollywood hasn't gone unnoticed. The Hollywood actor is finally being recognized for his work in the BBC thriller "The Fall" as it is in the running for the Royal Television Society Northern Ireland Awards.
According to the Belfast Telegraph on Friday, the Netflix series has been shortlisted along with other Irish programs such as "Line of Duty" and "37 Days." Dornan stars as serial killer Paul Spector, alongside veteran actress Gillian Anderson.
So far, it is unknown if Dornan will be present at the gala. It's been long rumored that his wife, British actress and singer Amelia Warner, is expecting the couple's second child, although the news is yet to be confirmed.
Earlier this year, fans were upset that Dornan failed to nab a nomination for his role in the television crime drama.
Many critics were surprised that Dornan failed to receive a nod, as he was highly applauded for his role as the father-turned-serial killer in the British series. Writer Sabienna Bowman of Bustle wrote, "In its second season, The Fall gave Dornan even meatier material to sink his teeth into, not to mention the chance to work one on one with Gillian Anderson as her Detective Stella Gibson finally caught up with Paul. Their tense conversation in the Season 2 finale was one of TV's great showdowns."
Dornan's fans on Twitter seem to be equally disappointed as many took to the social networking site to write, "Fans all know how talented @JamieDornan is and how well written @TheFallTV is. Emmy nomination or not," along with, "What a bummer. #JamieDornan and #TheFall definitely deserved an Emmy Nomination."
