TLC Band 2015: Fans Throw #TLCIsGoingToJailParty, Claims Group 'Stole' Their Money [VIDEO]
TLC has some explaining to do after getting lots of backlash on Twitter from fans.
Did T-Boz Really Say This About Chilli? Find Out What TLC’s Ex-Manager Claims She Called Chilli
You might remember back in February that Tionne “T-Boz” Watkins and Rozond “Chilli” Thomas launched a campaign on Kickstarter that raised $430,000 for a new album.
Well one fan asked T-Boz to refund the $5 they donated that was supposed to go toward writing sessions and studio time. When T-Boz told them that was Kickstarter’s problem, the hashtag #TLCIsGoingToJailParty started trending on Twitter.
Some even added singer Katy Perry into the mix after she donated $5,000 to the cause earlier this year.
As for T-Boz, she clapped back and told fans “y'all sound ridiculous” because they are indeed in the studio recording their latest album.
She also set the record straight and said they did not steal their fans’ money.
The Kickstarter fund came after the huge success of their TV biopic CrazySexyCool: The TLC Story that aired on VH1 back in October of 2013. Chilli and T-Boz released a new song "Meant To Be" and performed on various award shows like the American Music Awards.
Rapper Lil Mama even went on tour with them after playing a convincing role of the late third member of the group, Lisa “Lefteye” Lopes. TLC also answered fans’ request for more new music by getting in the studio for an album. But they needed a little help financially. The group is also getting sued by its former manager, Perri “Pebbles” Reid after she said she was portrayed in a negative light in the biopic. She filed a $40 million lawsuit.
