'Fifty Shades of Grey' Movie Casting: Does Felicity Jones VIDEO Put Her in the Ana Running?
While it won't surprise most "Fifty Shades of Grey" loyalists, another rumor surfaced regarding the role of Anastasia Steele in the film adaptation of the E.L. James erotica. Only this time, a new face has been the topic of discussion: British actress Felicity Jones.
A fictional video of the brunette playing alongside heartthrob Chris Hemsworth was recently posted on YouTube.
The 29-year-old is best known in the United Kingdom to the television masses as school bully Ethel Hallow in the first installment of the ITV series "The Worst Witch" and its sequel "Weirdsister College."
On Tuesday, Jones addressed the possibility of donning the "Fifty Shades" role of the college graduate to Metro.
"It all depends on the film-maker and script, just like any other job," she said.
After being informed of the fan-composed video, Jones was quick to point out that other notables were being seriously considered for the saucy character as well.
"Anyway, I've heard there's lots of campaigns by fans pushing other brunette actresses but I guess I should thank this person who went to all that trouble," she said.
While the actress seemingly admired the fact that she was being coveted for such a large role, she revealed that she'd much rather keep a low profile.
"I find that if you know a lot about an actor's personal life then, instinctively, it is harder to believe in the character they are playing."
At the beginning of the "Fifty Shades of Grey" novels, the Steele character is described as a 21-year-old virgin who isn't very talkative. Nonetheless, she eventually agrees to the S&M-crazed billionaire Christian Grey's submissive ways.
Other potential suitors rumored for the Steele role include, but aren't limited to, Lucy Hale of "Pretty Little Liars," Alexandra Daddario of "Texas Chainsaw 3D," and Anne Hathaway of "Les Miserables." Judging by the precedent set by the author James, the actress playing the female lead would most certainly have to bring an element of sex appeal to the casting table.
