Apparently, Jill Duggar and her husband Derick Dillard do keep up with what the tabloid media reports about them. The couple is now slamming rumors that they went on their missionary trip to South America because they wanted to "convert" Catholics to their own religion.

In a blog post on their official website, Derick makes it clear that they aren't looking to open up their church doors to anybody, but instead simply preach their message from God.

The reality television star wrote, "God did not call us to convert Catholics, but God has called us to follow His example. He has not called us to convert Buddhists, Muslims, Baptists, atheists, Mormons, Lutherans, Jehovah's Witnesses, Methodists, agnostics, or Hindus."

He added, "God has called us to Central America to preach the good news of the kingdom of God. My desire is to preach good news to the poor and to proclaim liberty to the captives. I have the greatest treasure in Christ, and I want others to know that hope as well."

The couple has taken some heat recently for allegedly using their donation money to help fund their trips from El Salvador to the United States during their stint in South America. The couple has since offered refunds to their fans.

Jill and Derick along with their son Israel David will be back on the small screen in their spin-off show, Jill and Jessa: Still Counting, which is slated to air on TLC in December. Jill's sister Jessa Duggar and her husband Ben Seewald will also star in the series.
