You've more than likely heard of The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt.

It's one of the best-selling video games of 2015, with 6 million copies of the game being sold throughout the world since its release this spring. Though there had been two previous installments of the game, Wild Hunt brought its developer, CD Projekt RED, into the worldwide limelight for the first time in its 21 years of existence.

Now, there's talk of a full-length feature film featuring our hero, Geralt of Rivera.

Fans of The Witcher know the story is based on a set of novels written by Polish author Andrzej Sapkowski, who has also written short stories based in the same realm, titled "The Last Wish." Rumors are that the full-length movie will be based on stories from within this series.

The Sean Daniels Company will be teaming up with Polish movie producer Platige Films, who produced the trailer for Witcher 3, as well as the cinematics for Halo 5: Guardians.

Slated to direct the movie is Oscar nominee Tomasz Baginski, with Thania St. John (of Buffy the Vampire Slayer fame) writing the script.

There's no word on who will play Geralt or any of the other characters in the movie.

One thing is almost certain: Given the gratuitousness of Wild Hunt, we can rest assured that the film adaptation of the story will certainly be rated R.

The movie is slated for release sometime in 2017.
