Something 'Quite Shocking' Will Happen To Lady Mary On 'Downton Abbey'
On Saturday, Express posted an interview with actress Elizabeth McGovern (Cora) who mentioned that her character will be welcoming the change that's been happening where she might possess more strength.
"Everything is changing and Cora is, in her own way, taking a little bit more control," McGovern said. "She's trying to be involved in the making of decisions that apply to the running of the house and the estate, more than she has in the past. Within the context of being a wife and a mother, Cora is flexing her muscles more."
Final Episode Of 'Downton Abbey' Made Grown Men Cry
The actress then dished on a couple of her favorite moments from the series, one of them including what took place after Sybil's death.
"I loved playing the effect it had on the family," she said. "It's one thing to have people cry, but I felt Julian had written the stage of grief and the impact of such a big thing on relationships in a specific, fascinating way."
"But I also love Cora's moments with Robert," McGovern added. "I like their relationship and the way they speak to each other and, of course, I love working with Hugh [Bonneville]."
Downton Abbey Season 6 is expected to premiere in the United States on Sunday, January 3 on PBS.
