'Awkward' Season 5 Finale Spoilers: Graduation Day Arrives But Will Everyone Have A Happy Ending? [VIDEO]
They've gone through so much during their time at Palos Hills High, and now, the Awkward gang is getting ready to finally don their caps and gowns and graduate.
Matty & Jenna Finally Confess Their Feelings
The big day has finally arrived for Jenna (Ashley Rickards), Matty (Beau Mirschoff), Tamara (Jillian Rose Reed), Jake (Brett Davern), Sadie (Molly Tarlov), Lissa (Greer Grammer), and the rest of their senior class-but things won't necessarily be entirely smooth sailing for the group in the lead up to when they get their diplomas.
In a sneak peek clip of the first of two Monday, Nov. 9 episodes, following their post-prom confessions of love for one another, Jenna and Matty are finally back together and are in bliss-but waking up on graduation morning could prove to be a rude wake up call for the lovebirds after Jenna's parents walk in on them.
Matty Finally Tells Jenna The Truth
To make things potentially even worse, they may not even get to spend the summer together before heading to colleges on opposite sides of the country.
"I wish we had more time before college," Matty says to Jenna in the clip after she says she could spend the rest of her life waking up in his arms.
"At least we have all summer," she replies.
"Actually..." Matty begins before Lacey (NIkki DeLoach) and Kevin (Mike Faiola) barge in with balloons.
From there, things only continue getting more awkward for the two, after Matty, clad only in boxers, is forced to cover up in ways he didn't plan on .
Meanwhile, Sadie's experience isn't much better after her life continues to fall apart. Not only did she learn recently that her reconnected relationship with her mother was completely fake, but she was dumped by her boyfriend and caught with alcohol at the prom-which means she now isn't allowed to walk with her friends at graduation or give her valedictory address.
However, things will seem to get worse for her at the graduation carnival, when Lissa surprises her by bringing Sergio (Niko Pepaj), whom Sadie is not happy to see.
"You thought wrong," she says to Sergio after he says he thought she'd like seeing him. "This is a high school function. You're not invited."
Awkward airs Mondays at 9 p.m. on MTV.
