It's no secret that both Jill and Jessa Duggar recently went through two very difficult labors and now critics are saying it's all because they decided to have home births without being in the watchful eye of a team of medical professionals. In fact, the reality television sisters are being slammed for their family tradition, with one obstetrician even suggesting that Jill and Jessa could easily have died after childbirth if it weren't for their hospital's medical intervention.

Just last week, reports say that Jessa was rushed to the hospital after her mother Michelle Duggar called 911 because of her heavy bleeding. While the Duggar family has refused to comment on the speculation, many doctors are now criticizing the family for choosing to give birth at home, rather than in a medical facility. Jill was rushed to the hospital back in April and had an emergency C-section when her son Israel David was born.

Dr. Amy Tuteur is putting the Duggars on blast in a new blog post in which she shared on Monday, explaining that Jill and Jessa could have easily died if it weren't for their doctor's intervention.

She wrote, "Jessa Duggar Seewald and Jill Duggar Dillard are two, young healthy women who planned homebirths. They were about as low risk as low risk can be, yet, in an object lesson for homebirth advocates, both had to be rescued by obstetricians."

Dr. Tuteur further explained, "So both Jill and Jessa trusted birth and birth nearly killed them. Obstetricians, in contrast, saved them. They've given us an object lesson in why homebirth can be dangerous and even deadly."

So far, the Duggar family has not made any comments about the report.
