Leave it to Jessa Duggar and her husband Ben Seewald to definitely give us the most unique if not odd celebrity baby name of the year.

Jessa and Ben, who just welcomed their son last week, announced that they've named the baby Spurgeon Elliot Seewald.

According to People Magazine on Wednesday, the couple's new bundle of joy is named after Charles Spurgeon, a British preacher who lived from 1834-1892. The site says that during Spurgeon's time, he was considered the best-known preacher in England, frequently speaking in front of audiences of more than 10,000 people. He founded a theological college in London, which is today named Spurgeon's College.

Unfortunately though, the new moniker has fans split although the majority have already voiced their opinions and call the name "awful."

Many comments include, "Nothing says I hate you and hope you have a horrible life than the first than giving your child a name to be ridiculed mercilessly," along with, "Wow. Didn't see that one coming. Truly awful and honestly cruel. The teasing possibilities are endless. This takes the cake of cringeworthy celebrity names. Someone has to live with that!"

Another critic said, "Spurge for short? This is so far off the realm of what I was thinking they would name their child. I feel bad, but that is a terrible name. When you say it out loud, it sounds like a mistake. Virgin Spurgeon."
