‘Grey’s Anatomy’ Season 12 Spoilers: Why Will Penny Snap At Callie While At The Hospital? [VIDEO]
Grey's Anatomy has loads of tension unraveling since Dr. Callie Torres' (Sara Ramirez) new girlfriend Penny (Samantha Sloyan) played a part in Dr. Derek Shepherd's (Patrick Dempsey) death.
Penny joined the Grey Sloan Memorial Hospital medical staff and Dr. Meredith Grey (Ellen Pompeo) and Dr. Amelia Shepherd (Caterina Scorsone) in particular have been struggling with her being there.
They have not been very welcoming to Penny, but Penny will fight back in the episode called Something Against You that will air tonight, Nov. 12.

ABC has given a sneak peek into the episode, in which Penny gets pretty fired up against her girlfriend and Meredith.
"Grey," Callie calls out to Meredith, which prompts Meredith to acknowledge her, before Callie adds, "Blake is a third year resident. She should be in our surgery. The skull transplant; that is the learning opportunity here. She deserves a chance to see it."
Penny then pipes in, annoyed that her girlfriend would defend her like this to Meredith.
"Callie, we talked about this," Meredith then states, adding, "Blake needs to be where I need her to be."
The two doctors bicker about where Meredith plans to place Penny and then suddenly Callie brings up Derek.
"Callie, stop!" Penny interjects, but Callie is on a roll, adding, "No, I am sorry, but I can't just stand here--"
Penny cuts her off though, claiming she's embarrassing her.
"Nobody asked you to say anything," Penny shouts at Callie, adding, "So just shut up and stay out of it!"
Callie walks off angry, but Penny continues to let her emotions explode on Meredith this time.
"I don't need her to fight for me," Penny tells Meredith, adding, "But Callie is right. I'm here to learn. I want to learn, but you have to teach me. Don't go easy on me. Don't expect less. Just treat me like any other resident. Treat me worse. I don't care! Hate me! Yell at me! I can handle it. I will handle it. You told me not to quit and I didn't, but you are right now and if you can't do what you are here to do then please let me go."
Penny then walks off leaving Meredith to think and process what just happened.
Aside from this outburst from Penny, Dr. Arizona Robbins (Jessica Capshaw) will show excitement about getting back into the dating world according to the press release.
Grey's Anatomy airs on ABC on Thursdays at 8 p.m. ET.
