People tend to overlook how Missy really built a visually stunning bridge between Hip Hop and nerdy Black women. #WTFMissy — Shannon Miller (@Phunky_Brewster) November 12, 2015
Seeing a Black woman embrace sci-fi, special effects and the weird so authentically was a HUGE deal for Black girls in the 90's, forward. — Shannon Miller (@Phunky_Brewster) November 12, 2015
She did all this WITHOUT shaming the twerking video vixen. There was no "this or that." There was both and they SLAYED TOGETHER. #WTFMissy — Shannon Miller (@Phunky_Brewster) November 12, 2015
And while she embraced new artistry, she's always remained true to her aesthetic. That's hard as hell, y'all, especially in music. #WTFMissy

I'm not built for stanning, but there's a short list of folks who consistently slay and inspire. Missy tops that list, easily. #WTFMissy — Shannon Miller (@Phunky_Brewster) November 12, 2015
