Following news of her Teen Mom 2 star's custody loss and recent trip to treatment, Lowry spoke out, claiming that seeking help, whatever it may be for, is important for mothers to do.
"I think taking care of yourself as a person and a mother first is always important,” Lowry told Radar Online on November 13. “And if she has to go through some bumps in the road to get into a healthy place, then nobody should knock her for it.”

While rumors of drug use have been swirling for over a year, Messer told fans her trip to treatment was for issues of anxiety and depression.
Although Lowry and Messer used to be close, they appear to have lost touch in recent months, and now, it is Jeremy Calvert, Messer's second ex-husband, who is closest to Lowry and her husband, Javi Marroquin. However, when it comes to Messer's custody battle, Lowry doesn't question Calvert about what his former wife is going through.
“I want to stay out of that as much as possible because I feel like it’s such a touchy subject and I don’t want to step on any toes or anything,” she said. “We just talk more of like work and stuff like that and the kids.”
Last month, Messer's first husband, Corey Simms, was granted primary custody of their 5-year-old twins due to Messer's inability to transport the girls to kindergarten.
