Shakira Pregnant - Singer to Induce Delivery of First Baby in Spanish Hospital: Report
Shakira will induce the birth of her first child on Monday, according to a report by Spanish newspaper La Razon.
The newspaper claims that Shakira visited the emergency room of the clinic Teknon in Barcelona last week after feeling "typical" pains women feel before they give birth. According to the report, Shakira decided to induce the birth of their child so that it doesn't interfere with her and her boyfriend's Gerard Pique's professional commitments.
"In fact, sources say she will give birth on Monday, since she decided to induce the birth," the report reads.
On Wednesday, Shakira bared it nearly all to show off her prominent baby bump for a photo shoot with her super soccer star boyfriend. The couple posted the photos on Twitter and in a donation campaign hosted by UNICEF. (See the Photos in the Slideshow Here)
Shakira and Pique threw a baby shower with a twist last week. The couple launched their world baby shower in collaboration with UNICEF aimed at making donations to children with no financial resources around the world.
The 35-year-old singer, who is a UNICEF Goodwill Ambassador, announced her pregnancy in September. She and Pique have been dating since March 2011.
After the birth of her baby, Shakira will replace Christina Aguilera on the singing competition show "The Voice." She has also been working on her new album.
