According to CNN, at least 128 people are dead after terrorists attacked several locations in Paris. It is the worst carnage the cosmopolitan city has ever seen and is being deemed the largest scale of multiple killings in any Western city since the 9/11 incident in 2001.

Multiple reports of suicide bombings, drive by shootings and hostage taking transpired in six locations throughout the city: The Bataclan concert hall, outside the Stade de France, Le Petit Cambodge, La Belle Equipe, Rou de la Fontaine and Boulevard Beaumarchais.

The Bataclan

The most deaths occurred in the Bataclan concert hall, where a metal band was currently playing. Account witnesses have stated unmasked gunmen entering the concert venue and began shooting people. The French media has been quoted that over 100 people were killed on site.

"We lied down on the floor not to get hurt. It was a huge panic. The terrorists shot at us for 10 to 15 minutes. It was a bloodbath," said one eyewitness. Another said that one of the gunmen looked like a teenager. Survivors of the shooting said that the terrorists were shouting in French, speaking about Syria and Iraq.

One more witness reported that there are no metal detectors or inspections upon entering the concert hall.

State of Emergency

President François Hollande who was at the State de France when the attacks happen declared a state of emergency and ordered the country's borders to be closed. We are going to lead a war which will be pitiless. Because when terrorists are capable of committing such atrocities they must be certain that they are facing a determined France, a united France, a France that is together and does not let itself be moved, even if today we express infinite sorrow," he declared.

Majority of the city's public spaces will be closed until further notice. The president has also urged everyone to stay indoors.

"Accomplices may be at large"

Authorities have reported the French police neutralizing five gunmen, three of which were armed with explosive belts. However, they fear accomplices are still on the loose.

No one has claimed responsibility for the barbaric attack. However, ISIS has applauded the bloodbath on its website. U.S counterterrorism experts have stated that the attack resembled tactics applied by a number of terror groups, including al Qaeda.
