Taylor Swift sent a series of apologetic text messages to One Direction singer Harry Style shortly after they broke up saying she regretting ending things with the British singer, Hollywood Life reported Jan. 16, citing a close friend of Swift's.

After leaving Styles following a rumored dispute they had on Jan. 4, Swift apparently regretted breaking up with the 18-year-old. "She was a wreck and torn up," a friend of hers said. She would text him apologies but Styles "wouldn't call her back. He thinks she's too emotional."

On Jan. 10, Swift tweeted "Back in the studio. Uh-oh..."

The Grammy winner did not reveal any further details about her plans in the recording studio but she has been vocal in the past about the fact that she draws inspiration for her music from her personal relationships, especially her ex-boyfriends.

"I've always lived by the theory that if a guy doesn't want me to write a bad song about him, he won't do bad things," she told Us Weekly in 2010. "And he shouldn't, you know?"

Swift's famous ex-boyfriends include John Mayer, Jake Gyllenhaal, Taylor Lautner, Joe Jonas and Conor Kennedy.

"Taylor writes music in the same way that other women chat to their friends on the phone. It's been how she deals with her emotions for most of her life," a source told The Sun. "Harry and Taylor only dated for a short time but there were very strong feelings, so it's been a tough comedown."

Swift and Styles reportedly fought while on vacation on Virgin Gorda, the largest of the British Virgin Islands, as they celebrated the New Year's holiday together. On New Year's Eve, they were videotaped kissing in Times Square when the ball dropped. The topic behind their dispute, which was large enough to end their relationship on Jan. 4, is still unknown but one insider confirmed that the 1D member "said something he shouldn't have."
