The Harbaugh brothers have yet to speak to one another since each of their respective teams advanced to meet in this year's Super Bowl.

Nonetheless, the siblings have given messages to the media that are nearly the same: focus on the players, not the coaches.

Just a couple of days removed from the San Francisco 49ers' and Baltimore Ravens' victories, John and Jim Harbaugh seem to already be over the Harbaugh Bowl hoopla.

John stated that the brothers' stories were already told prior to their two teams' matching up on Thanksgiving in 2011; one of which was about them separating their shared childhood bedroom by a strip of tape.

"We aren't that interesting. There is nothing more to learn. It's just like any other family, really. I really hope the focus is not so much on that," John told ESPN Monday. "We get it. It's really cool, and it's really exciting and all of that. It's really about the team. It's about the players. The more we focus on those guys, the better it is for everybody."

Although there have been nine other sets of brothers to go up against one another as head coaches in the NHL, NBA and MLB, the NFL championship matchup will mark the first time ever that two brothers will face each other in a postseason game, according to the Elias Sports Bureau.

Just one hour after John spoke to reporters about the hype on Monday, Jim labeled the historical showdown of brothers as both "a blessing and a curse."

"The blessing because it's my brother's team and also personally I played for the Ravens. The curse part would be that talk of two brothers playing in the Super Bowl and what that takes away from the players that are in the game," Jim said.
