Kat isn’t letting Ryan’s feelings about her doing projects outside of 9 Mag stop her from signing on to another one on VH1’s Black Ink Crew: Chicago.

Ryan expressed to Kat and cameras this week that he wasn’t all for Kat going to make a name for herself outside of the tattoo shop. In his defense, he was questioning the loyalty of many of his artists as they were considering taking on other projects along with tattooing. But that doesn’t mean Kat plans on slowing down anytime soon.

In fact, in a teaser for the next episode, Kat dips out of Chicago and heads to New York City for a tattoo convention.

“This convention is a big deal. I’m going to be in the same room as my favorite tattoo artists. The people I used to Google before I even knew what to do with my tattoo machine. This is a great opportunity. It will definitely take my career in the path that I’m trying to go.”
One of her friends points out that the guys of 9 Mag will not be happy with Kat’s trip. But she said she wanted them to do it all together and they shut down the idea.

“They said they had their lane and they can’t do what these artists do.”

She said she would prefer for them to do it all together.

Kat said, “Especially with how Ryan’s been acting, it feels good to be doing my own thing. I’m gonna do it on my own terms. He’s not gonna have any control over the situation.”

Black Ink Crew: Chicago airs Mondays at 8/7c on VH1.
