In honor of National Adoption Day, the award-winning actress shared her touching experience through Who Say, as an adopted child and how it has become a blessing for her.

Though 47-year-old singer knew already that she was adopted, such situation was never withheld from her.

"Growing up, my parents explained my adoption by telling me, 'We chose you'," she recalled. "It was a wonderful way to put it to an adopted child. And I think it's true. An adoption is a full-circle blessing."

Chenoweth stated that she has no ill will against her birth mother, whom she never met, but the actress does understand that her mother loved her so much and wanted to give her a better life.

"It's a blessing (and a huge sacrifice) for a birth parent to make the decision to give his/her baby a better life," she wrote. Sometimes people can't take care of that baby just yet. (And their circumstances might change in 15 years.) But what a gift they are giving to both that child and the family who wants to adopt.

The Muppets star then addressed to other adopted children, encouraging them that the situation they are in is a blessing and should never think that they are abandoned and neglected.

"We weren't abandoned; we were chosen," she stated. "We were given a chance. I'm not saying it's not hard or that it's easy for people to understand. But it really isn't for the world to understand; it's for the people who are involved."

The actress also expresses her deep desires to adopt if she never gets the chance to give birth. She is 100% of that fact. But apparently, she reveals, "I have a lot of kids in my life who I love and mentor. So, in a way, I feel like I've done it, even though I don't have a child who lives with me."

Chenoweth expressly thanked her birth mother for the huge sacrifice, "If anything, I would thank my birth mother for loving me enough to make such a huge sacrifice. It's a great gift for me to be able to say: "I know that I came from love, and I know that I have love."
