Will The Judges Be 'Pleasantly Surprised' By A Frank Sinatra-Like Performer?

Sharon Irving, who competed in the 10th season of the series, spoke to Deseret News in Thursday's report on how important it is to be ready to show those judges what the contestants are capable of.

"You don't get a lot of time, so whatever you do, do it well the first time," Irving suggested. "Give it all you've got."

Irving had a big moment when she auditioned for the show singing Hozier's song 'Take Me to Church.' This brought the audience and judges to stand up for her. Mel B was so impressed by the rendition that she hit the golden buzzer.

The singer admitted that she was not as relaxed as she looked before she went on stage to audition.

"I was so nervous," she said. "I think I probably have never been more nervous."

Irving also mentioned that she likes to stay with her own identity when it comes to her role as an artist.

"I'm pretty eclectic," she said. "I try to put a vintage touch in everything."

One of the next auditions for Season 11 will take place in Salt Lake City on Saturday, December 5. Performers can sign up online in advance by clicking here.
