Shakira's Baby PHOTO, First Picture of Milan Posted By Boyfriend Gerard Pique
Shakira welcomed a baby boy on Tuesday and at the age of just two days old, her son already has a great sense of style.
Shakira's boyfriend Gerard Pique could not contain his excitement about the arrival of his first child, and posted online the first picture of his newborn's tiny feet brandishing a pair of stylish sneakers.
The photo was posted on Pique's Who Say account. It showed his son, Milan Piqué Mebarak, wearing a pair of white high top Nike sneakers with "Milan" embroidered on the strap. Piqué captioned the photo "Milan's feet!"
Shakira gave birth in Barcelona, Spain on Tuesday. The Colombian singer shared the news on her website in English, Spanish and Catalan:
"We are happy to announce the birth of Milan Piqué Mebarak, son of Shakira Mebarak and Gerard Piqué, born January 22nd at 9:36pm, in Barcelona, Spain," "The Voice" coach posted on her official website.
The name Milan (pronounced MEE-lahn), means dear, loving and gracious in Slavic; eager and laborious in Ancient Roman; and unification in Sanskrit.
Shakira shared that her baby was born in Barcelona like his father Pique' by stating that baby Milan became a "member of Barcelona by birth."
"Just like his father, baby Milan became a member of FC Barcelona at birth. The hospital confirmed that the couple's first child weighed approximately 6lbs. 6 ounces, and that both mother and child are in excellent health," Shakira wrote.
Shakira announced her relationship with Pique, a professional soccer player, in March of 2011 and revealed that she was pregnant with their first child together in September of 2012. She shared the news after NBC confirmed she will serve as a coach on "The Voice." Shakira will appear on the fifth season of the NBC reality competition when it returns on March 25.
