It was good news when it was announced that answers to Witches of East End would be tied up in a book, but those answers may not be that satisfying.

Is It Too Late To Give 'Witches Of East End' A Renewal?

On Tuesday, New York Daily News posted a review of Melissa de la Cruz's book Summer of East End: Tripe Moon about two teenage witches banished to East End where Ingrid and Freya from the TV series will make some kind of connection with them.

While this may have come off as an enticing plot especially since there's supposed to be closure to the former Lifetime drama, the review wasn't all that positive.

'Witches Of East End' Petition For Renewal Gains Less Signatures

"De la Cruz's writing is clunky and cheesy, including some passages that are downright laughable," the post reads. "And it's about 100 pages before the plot really kicks into action. Even the romantic aspect, which is a big part of the draw for this genre, takes forever before it gets steamy."

As for how things end, the critic mentioned that it plays out "with predictability and cliches." So whatever De la Cruz had planned for closure, some fans may have that already figured out.

Some answers from the series that are supposed to be tied up in this book include what happens with Freya and Killian's romance, if Frederick will ever return and the mystery of Ingrid's pregnancy.

Witches of East End lasted for two seasons before it was announced last year that it would not be getting a renewal.
